The Lady Bronco Golf Silver Team made their spring debut on Tuesday, February 25 at Lost Pines in Bastrop. A cool morning gave way to lots of sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures for the February.
The Pfeiffer-Oldfield Invitational, hosted by Bastrop High School, is a large varsity girls tournament that brings in mostly 6A schools from all over Texas. The Silver Team finished 7th. They finished the highest among 5A schools.
Carly Marshall, sophomore, continued her winning streak by shooting a two under par 70. She won by five strokes. Marshall had four birdies.
Fellow sophomore Lyliana Gonzalez shot 103. She finished 36th overall and recorded one birdie and one par.
Sophomore Reese Sexton made her Silver Team debut with a strong 106. She had two pars on the day and finished 40th.
Junior Suellen Tillis and Sophomore Lillie Mikes also competed for the Silver Team on Tuesday, on one of the most difficult courses the team has played this year.
The Silver Team will play their next tournament on Tuesday, March 4, at Legends in Kingsland, which is home to the 4A State Championship. The last time Lady Bronco Golf played at Legends was the State Championship in 2022.
