The Lady Bronco Golf Silver Team made the trip to Kingsland on Tuesday, March 4 to play at the Burnet Tournament at Legends Golf Course.
With sustained winds of 30 mph and gusts from 45-50 mph, it was quite the challenge. However, the Silver Team showed incredible grit and 212 effort in conditions in which many collegiate teams had their rounds cancelled. The four woman team shot a total of 461 and finished 5th.
Sophomore Lyliana Gonzalez had the low round of the day for the Silver Team, shooting a very good 102. Her round included one par and one birdie, that was just short of being an ace!
Reese Sexton, also a sophomore, shot a 116 in the tough conditions.
The third best score for the Lady Bronco Golf Team on Tuesday will another sophomore, Lillie Mikes. Lillie had an amazing improvement from her previous tournament, shooting a 119.
Junior Suellen Tillis finished up the scoring for the Silver Team by shooting a 124. She had one par.
In the adverse conditions scores for everyone were inflated 5-10 strokes. The girls played extremely well as they are beginning to gear up for district.
Their next tournament will be the BISD Tournament at Stonetree Golf Course in Killeen on March 19.
