Lake Boys Powerlifting get 2 Golds and overall 3rd place finish at Regionals

The Region 2 Regional powerlifting meet brought together some of the most talented high school powerlifters in the state. The competition featured three main lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. Each lifter had three attempts per lift, with their best attempts counting toward their total score. The Lake Belton High School Boys team delivered standout performances across the board. Here are some highlights:
- Christian Morales: Competing in the 114 weight class, Christian set the bar high for competitors with his 1000+ total as he earned a gold medal in his division.
- Brett Harmon: Known for his clutch explosive deadlift, Brett wowed the crowd with a 555 pull, securing a 1st place spot on the podium.
- Cooper Arnold & Leonel Castillo : A rising star on the team, Cooper showcased incredible consistency finishing 5th overall. While Leonel continued to add to the team with his lift totals.

The team’s combined efforts earned them 3rd place overall in the team standings cementing their status as one of the top powerlifting programs in the region.

With the Regionals behind them, the Lake Belton High powerlifting team led by State qualifiers Christian Morales and Brett Harmon are already setting their sights on the next challenge. The state championships are just around the corner, and the team is determined to bring home even more hardware. Saturday March 22, 2025 the boys compete in Abilene Texas in its final meet of the year.
