The Bronco Varsity Silver and Varsity Red golf teams competed in the B.I.S.D. Invitational at Stonetree Golf Course on Thursday March 20th. The day was cool and very windy, but the boys played well despite the conditions. The Silver Team walked away with a runner-up finish behind tournament champion B.H.S. by only 14 strokes. The Varsity Silver team was led by Junior Jackson Null who recorded 12 pars and six bogies for a total of 78. Junior Miles Parker was right behind Jackson recording a total of 81 strokes for the tournament. Junior Jack Brown was third on the team with a score of 87. Seniors Nick Brooks and Rawley Soliz battled the wind to finish with identical scores of 89.
The Varsity Red team also played well, finishing in third place only one stroke behind their Silver teammates. The Red team was led by Junior Gavin Kerr and Senior Eli Mascarenas who put great 78s! Third on the team, Senior Hudson Nix played to an 89 in the wind. Sophomore Austin Watson had some rust to shake off and posed a score of 91. Junior Brayden Hoff rounded out the team turning in a 97.
Both teams will finish out the regular season by playing in the district championship at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course next Thursday and Friday.
