LADY BRONCO GOLF RED FINISHES 4TH AT DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Lady Bronco Golf Red Finishes 4th at District Tournament

The Lady Bronco Golf Red Team played in the District 16-5A District Golf Tournament on March 25 and 26, Tuesday and Wednesday, at Stonetree Golf Course.

At the end of the first day, the Red Team was in 4th place, behind Belton 1, Lake Belton 1, and Ellison. They shot a team total of 459 which was their lowest round of the year.

Day one's lowest round was shot by freshman Kaylee Carubelli. She shot a 106 which was her personal best round by one stroke. Her previous personal best was also at Stonetee, the previous week. She had two pars.

Junior Suellen Tillis and Freshman Aurora Nance had the next best scores, both shooting 117. Tillis had two pars and Nance had one.

Lexie Holler, senior, shot 119 on her first round. She had one par.

Nena Tamarez finished up the scoring for the Red Team with a 137. She had one par.

On day two, Lady Bronco Red managed to improved upon their first day score. They shot a 454, improving upon their best round of the year the day before.

Suellen Tillis shot a great 106 on Wednesday. It was a personal best round for her, seven strokes better than previous best she shot the previous week at Stonetree. Her two day total of 223 was also a new record for her. At Stonetree in 2024, she shot 263. She finished 15th individually and was Honorable Mention All-District.

Lexie Holler, playing in her last tournament before graduating, finished on a bang. She shot 113, which was a personal best for her with a 9 stroke limit. She also shot 232 for the tournament, breaking her previous two day score by 37 strokes!

Carubelli followed up her great first day score with a second day score of 117. It was her first time playing a two day tournament. She shot 223, finished 15th individually, and was Honorable Mention All-District.

Nance shot 118 on day two, also completing her first two day tournament. She had one par. She shot 235.

Tamarez finished up the scoring by improving upon her first day by one stroke. She had a 136. She shot 273. She also set a new two day tournament record by 45 strokes that was set at Stonetree in 2023.

Tillis will travel with the Silver Team to the Regional Tournament as the alternate and Holler will travel as the manager. The District Tournament concludes play for the rest of the Red Team. They are a very young team with lots of promise for the future!
