The LBHS Varsity Red Golf Team brought home the third-place award at the District 16-5A golf tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course on March 27th and 28th. The boys played through rainy weather to outpace the fourth-place team by 51 strokes. The boys were lead by Sophomore Austin Watson who had a great two-day total of 172. Senior Hudson Nix was only three strokes behind Austin, turning in 175 for the tournament. Senior Eli Mascarenas was a couple of strokes behind Hudson with a total of 177. The team was rounded out by Junior Brayden Hoff and sophomore Kaiden Beaty who both had 196 holes for the tournament. In addition to the Red Team LBHS had three medalist competing in the district tournament. Sophomore Landon Casperson, playing in his first district tournament had a score of 204. Senior Ryan McGinnis turned in a two-day total of 216 (including a tournament personal best of 98 on the second day). Sophomore Andrew Hardin, also playing in his first district tournament, had a score of 224 for the two days. Austin and Hudson both qualified as regional qualifiers as medalist and will be traveling to Tanglewood Golf Course to play in the Regional Tournament on April 16th and 17th.
