MADDUX COMPETES AT PRESTIGIOUS AREA CODE GAMES

Lake Belton Bronco Pitcher Maverik Maddux competed in the 2025 Area Code Games at Blair Field on the campus of Long Beach State University in Long Beach, California. Maddux was selected to play for the Rangers Area Code Team. Per the Area Code Website, the Area Code Games are, "Eight regional teams play in a six-day showcase in California. The rosters will feature the best baseball players from around the nation competing while being evaluated at the highest level. Scouts from all 30 Major League teams and NCAA coaches will be in attendance. This tournament serves as the beginning of a year-long interview process culminating with the Major League Baseball Draft the following summer." Just a few of the notable alumni of the Area Code games include: Clayton Kershaw, Freddie Freeman, Marcus Semien, Alex Bregman, Cody Bellinger and Bo Bichette.
Maverik Maddux threw 2 innings against the Reds Area Code team, allowing only 2 hits and no runs. Maddux was the 2025 District 16-5A Pitcher of the Year for the Broncos and has committed to TCU to continue his baseball career after high school.
