The Lake Belton Freshmen Red football team turned in a complete performance Thursday night, powering past the A&M Consolidated Tigers with a 28–12 victory. Behind a balanced offensive attack and a relentless defensive effort, the Broncos secured one of their most impressive wins of the season.
From the opening whistle, Lake Belton’s offense clicked on all cylinders. The offensive line set the tone early, consistently winning battles in the trenches and creating space for playmakers to shine. Their execution allowed the Broncos to control the pace of the game, string together long drives, and wear down the Tigers’ defense.
The scoring was spread across multiple standouts. Jose Puente found the end zone twice, finishing off drives with decisive runs. Da’Marrion Torres-Hughes added another touchdown, showcasing his athleticism to extend Lake Belton’s lead. The dagger came late in the game when Amari Nealy capped off a long, punishing drive with a touchdown of his own, sealing the Broncos’ win and sending the home crowd into a roar.
Equally impressive was the defense, which not only limited the Tigers to just two scores but also forced three turnovers. The unit’s ability to create takeaways swung momentum and gave the offense extra opportunities to capitalize. From tight coverage in the secondary to big stops up front, the Broncos’ defense delivered at every level.
In the end, it was a true team effort — blocking, playmaking, and defensive discipline — that propelled Lake Belton to victory. With confidence building on both sides of the ball, the Freshmen Red squad looks poised to continue making noise as the season rolls on.
