Day 2 of the Copperas Cove Volleyball Tournament opened with a thrilling intra-school matchup as Lake Belton's Freshman Silver team faced off against the Junior Varsity squad. The tightly contested match set the tone for an exciting day, with JV ultimately prevailing in a hard-fought battle.
The Junior Varsity team carried that momentum throughout the last day of the tournament, going undefeated with commanding straight-set victories over both Belton and Copperas Cove. The team went 6-0 for the entire tournament. Standouts of the tournament were outside hitter/defensive specialist Riley Detwiler, setter Olivia Maldonado and defensive specialist Kenna Morrison.
Meanwhile, the Freshman Silver team rebounded from their early loss to deliver two impressive performances, notching wins against both Copperas Cove and Belton to complete the tournament. Setter Kylie Morgenroth stood out with her consistent hitting, setting, and serving throughout to help the team finish with a 5-1 record.
