The Lake Belton Freshman Red volleyball team turned in a powerhouse performance this past weekend, going undefeated to take home the championship title at their Georgetown Tournament. With outstanding teamwork, disciplined defense, and aggressive net play, the Lady Broncos made a statement that they are a team to watch this season.
The tournament began with a strong showing against Stony Point High School, where Lake Belton set the tone early. The Broncos dominated the first set, cruising to a 25–11 win, thanks to consistent serves and quick transitions. The second set was more competitive with the broncos finding themselves down 17-13 at one point but the broncos held their ground, pulling through with a tight 25–23 finish to sweep the match.
Next up was Pflugerville High School, and Lake Belton didn’t let up. The Broncos came out firing in the first set, overpowering Pflugerville with aggressive serves and well-placed attacks to win 25–10. They followed up with another confident performance in the second set, securing a 25–15 win and advancing to the championship round.
In the final match, Lake Belton faced off against a tough Rouse High School squad. But once again, the Broncos proved their dominance. They controlled the pace of the game from the start, executing plays with precision and poise. The first set ended in a convincing 25–10 victory. With the title on the line, the team stayed locked in and closed the match with a 25–17 win—securing their undefeated run and the tournament championship.
Throughout the tournament every player contributed to the team’s success, whether through clutch digs, powerful kills, or smart plays at the net. The future looks bright for this talented group of athletes. Go Broncos! ?????
