The Lady Broncos made a statement at the Georgetown ISD Tournament, going undefeated and walking away with the championship trophy. With over 20 aces and standout performances across the board, the Silver squad showed grit, skill, and a relentless competitive edge from start to finish.
Leading the offensive charge was setter Kylie Morgenroth, whose hands were like butter—smooth, precise, and consistent all day long. Her sets were on point, allowing the hitters to dominate the net with confidence and rhythm.
On the outside, Kaleileana Cress, Jordynn Morris, and Aspen Cory lit up the court with powerful swings and smart placement. All three had standout weekends, proving to be relentless forces on the attack and bringing energy every time they stepped on the floor.
From the right side, Azeley Johnson played with vision and control, repeatedly finding empty spots on the court and placing the ball exactly where it needed to be.
Alexis White made her presence known in the middle, producing several key blocks and registering multiple kills. Her dominance at the net helped fuel the team’s momentum. Joining her in the block party were Kayleigh Jackson and Charlotte Williams, who both set the tone defensively at the net. Jackson especially shined from the service line, dropping in 4 crucial aces during a pivotal stretch that helped swing a tight game in Lake Belton's favor.
In the back row, Taylan Cole had a phenomenal tournament as Libero, leading all teams in digs and even tallying several back-row kills, keeping the pressure on opponents from every position. Defensive specialist Aubrey Henderson also turned heads with her sharp, accurate passing that kept the offense flowing throughout the day.
The Lady Broncos finish their tournament season with an impressive 13-3 overall record, with all three losses coming against out-of-class junior varsity teams. Along the way, they notched wins against multiple out-of-class opponents and went undefeated in tournament play against teams within their classification—an outstanding finish to a strong tournament run.
The Lady Broncos will return home this Tuesday as they face off against China Spring in regular season action. This matchup marks an important step in their preparation for upcoming district play, as the team looks to carry their tournament success and momentum into the heart of the season.
