The Bronco Silver and Red golf teams pulled into Stonetree golf course hoping to get their seasons off to a strong start at the district championship course. What they got was a weather delayed, rain-soaked day. The boys had barely finished their first hole when the weather horn blew. After waiting for two and half hours the golfers were fed lunch, split into two groups, and sent out in the rain to play their shortened tournament. The first group was to play the par 37 front nine and the second group played the par 35 back. Several gloves and towels later and the tournament finally came to an end. The Bronco Silver team took first place with a nine-hole score of 156 strokes. Senior Gavin Kerr led the team with an even par 37, this was also good for a tie for first place (Gavin eventually wound up in third place in a scorecard playoff). Close behind Gavin Senior Brayden Hoff finished the day with a score of 39. Senior Miles Parker and Jackson Null turned in identical cards of 40 strokes. Freshman Jackson Dolotina rounded out the first team with a score of 48. Meanwhile on the back nine the Varsity Red team was also playing well and taking home the first place trophy with a team score of 185 strokes. Leading the way on the Red team, Junior Kaiden Beaty posted a score of 45, and an overall fifth place finish. Two freshmen, Acelin Wycoff and Heston Seideman each took 46 strokes to complete their tournament. Junior Landon Casperson was close on their heels carding a nice 48. Andrew Hardin rounded out the team with a score of 57 strokes on the rain soaked and muddy back nine. The Varsity Silver’s next tournament will be a 36 hole event on October the 10th at Tanglewood Country Club in Pottsboro the Varsity Red team will tee it up in a 27 hole tournament at Mill Creek Country Club in Salado on October the 8th,
