The Lake Belton Freshman Red football team put up a hard fight Thursday night but came up just short in a 22-14 loss to Georgetown East View.

The Broncos struck first when running back Michael Peoples powered his way into the end zone on a strong rushing touchdown to set the tone early. Later in the game, quarterback Jackson Perez connected with James Kelly on a long touchdown strike that electrified the crowd and gave Lake Belton a surge of momentum.

Lake Belton’s defense battled hard throughout the contest, making key stops to keep the Broncos within striking distance.

The Broncos will look to bounce back next week as they continue to build on their offensive playmaking and defensive grit.
