The Lake Belton Freshman Silver team pulled off an incredible win Thursday night, defeating the Georgetown East View Freshman squad in a nail-biting 31-30 contest. In a game filled with momentum swings and big plays, the Broncos showed resilience and determination to secure the one-point victory.
The offense was powered by standout performances from Erick Harness and Kyle Lighthall, who each found the end zone twice on the ground. Harness ran with strength and vision, keeping the chains moving and delivering two key rushing touchdowns. Lighthall added his own spark, breaking through the defense for two rushing scores that gave the Broncos much-needed momentum throughout the game.
Defensively, Lake Belton delivered one of the night’s most critical plays. Alex Curter made a huge impact with a tackle-for-loss safety, adding two points to the scoreboard and swinging momentum back in the Broncos’ favor at a crucial moment. The defense battled tough against a strong East View offense, making stops when it mattered most.
The victory showed the true grit of the Freshman Silver squad, as they fought until the very end to hold on to their narrow lead. Every player contributed to the effort, and the win marks another step forward in their growth and development this season.
The Broncos will look to carry this momentum into next week as they return home to face Leander Glenn on Thursday night. With confidence riding high after this thrilling win, Lake Belton is ready for another tough battle.
