The Lake Belton HS Cross Country Team competed in the District 16-5A meet yesterday at the HOT Soccer Complex in Waco. The varsity girls were the district champions and were led by freshman Keira Dzenowski. Keira won the girls' race and broke the 3 mile school record with a time of 19:31. The remaining varsity girls were also top 10 finishers. The varsity girls who medaled include Keira Dzenowski (1st), Jenna Benedick (3rd), Mady Rivas (4th), Sarah Gray (5th), Lucy Loa (6th), Alayna Fulton (9th), and Elizabeth Sandlin (10th).
The varsity boys' team finished a strong 3rd place and were led by Wyatt Potts (6th), Jack McCullagh (10th), and Drew Houston (13th).
Both the varsity girls and varsity boys teams earned spots to compete in the regional meet on Oct. 20th in Arlington.
The JV girls' team were the JV district champions. Leading the Lady Broncos were Susan Antunez Martinez (1st), Camryn Mikulas (2nd), Clara Hill (3rd), Alyse Newby (4th), Claire Henn (5th), Isabela Romero (6th), and Demi Fisher (7th).
The JV boys team finished in 3rd place and were led by Leo Piedra (10th), Robert Thomas (11th), and Anthony Garza (14th).
