The Lake Belton Freshmen Red football team turned in another impressive performance, defeating Leander High School 22-0 behind a balanced offensive attack and a dominant defensive showing.
The Broncos struck first in the opening half when Amari Nealy found the end zone on a tough run, giving Lake Belton a 6-0 lead heading into halftime. The Broncos’ defense set the tone early, keeping Leander’s offense in check and allowing the offense to build momentum.
In the second half, Jose Puente extended the lead with a powerful rushing touchdown, pushing the score to 14-0 after a successful two-point conversion. Later in the game, Michael Peoples capped off a long, methodical drive with another rushing score to put the game out of reach at 22-0.
Lake Belton’s defense continued its stellar play, recording another shutout and controlling the line of scrimmage throughout the night. The Broncos’ combination of physical defense and efficient offense proved too much for Leander to handle.
With the 22-0 victory, the Lake Belton Freshmen Red team continues to showcase their dominance as they move deeper into the season.
