The Lake Belton Broncos Girls JV basketball team delivered a great performance this weekend in BISD Sub-Varsity Tournament with a perfect 3–0 record to claim the championship. Behind disciplined defense, unselfish ball movement, and steady scoring from multiple players, the Broncos showed complete control from the opening tip to the final horn.
They opened the tournament with a commanding 41–9 win over Robinson, setting the tone early with suffocating defense and efficient offense. Ayaana Omisola led the way with 8 points, while Zoey Johnson added 7 and Keyanna Hawkins chipped in 6 as the Broncos forced turnovers and pushed the pace to build a lead Robinson couldn’t overcome.
In their second game, Lake Belton earned a 58–36 victory over Killeen in a matchup fueled by strong guard play and timely scoring. Ayaan Omisola powered the offense with 16 points, followed by Ja’Niah Ford with 8. Cheyann Oglesby sparked the gym with a rare and-one three-pointer that swung momentum firmly toward the Broncos. The team sealed the win thanks to clutch fourth-quarter baskets from both Coby Dodd and Harley King, helping maintain a comfortable lead down the stretch.
The championship game against A&M Consolidated showcased Lake Belton’s most complete performance of the tournament as they cruised to a 63–23 win. Every player on the roster scored, demonstrating the team’s depth and unselfishness as they consistently passed up good shots for great ones. On the defensive end, the Broncos were equally impressive. Ansley Dwyer anchored the interior with multiple rebounds and an outstanding four blocks, while the rest of the squad applied constant pressure and shut down scoring lanes throughout the game.
By the end of the day, the Lady Broncos stood alone as tournament champions, earning three convincing wins and proving that their teamwork, toughness, and chemistry continue to elevate their game.
