The Lake Belton wrestling teams competed in dual action against Lampasas, with both the boys and girls recording strong individual performances highlighted by multiple pins and hard-fought matches across varsity and junior varsity lineups.
The Broncos opened strong in the lighter varsity boys’ weight classes. At 106 pounds, Gavin Stahley set the tone with a pin. Momentum continued at 120 pounds as Andrew Moore earned a fall, followed by an impressive major decision from James Holt at 126, winning 24–10. Lake Belton added more pins at 132 and 138 pounds from Kameron Adams and Carl Huffman, both securing quick falls.
At 157 pounds, Jacob Copley delivered one of the most competitive matches of the night, earning an 18–11 decision. Several upper weight classes were decided by falls or forfeits, creating a challenging stretch in the lineup for the Broncos.
On the girls’ side, Lake Belton showcased strong individual performances despite several forfeits. Alayna Royals picked up a pin at 130 pounds, while Akira Beck continued her season with another fall at 145. Upper weights closed the night on a positive note as Kameryn Vaden (190) and Lorelai Scallorn (235) earned wins by forfeit.
The Junior Varsity Broncos also saw plenty of action, highlighted by multiple pins. Tanner Wentz (126), Davis Wren (132), Caleb Sutterfield (132), Austin Carrillo (144), and Chantz Parker (285) each earned wins by fall. The JV group gained valuable mat time throughout the night, continuing to build depth and experience for the program.
The Broncos will next compete at the Hill Country Invitational at Vista Ridge High School on Saturday.
