The Lake Belton Broncos JV girls basketball team closed out the year in emphatic fashion, rolling past the Madisonville Mustangs with a decisive 77–12 victory. The win provides strong momentum as the Broncos turn their focus toward district play, which begins after the holiday break.
Offensively, the Broncos were led by Ayaana Omisola, who poured in 16 points to set the tone early. Ansley Dwyer followed with 11 points, while Kaleileana Cress added 9 and Hayden Maroney chipped in 8. Harley King contributed 6 points, continuing her steady all-around play gane acter game, and Bailey Schorn scored 5 while making her presence felt on both ends of the floor.
Ja’Niah Ford had a well-rounded performance, scoring 6 points that included two long-range shots. She also kept her teammates involved by distributing the ball effectively, helping the Broncos maintain a fast pace and balanced attack throughout the game.
Defensively, Lake Belton was relentless. Bailey Schorn was a menace on that end, racking up countless steals and deflections as the Broncos pressured Madisonville into turnovers from start to finish. The team’s defensive intensity fueled easy scoring opportunities and allowed them to build a commanding lead early.
With the lopsided victory, the Broncos move one game closer and now look ahead to district competition more confident and locked in on their goals for the remainder of the season.
