The Lake Belton Broncos girls JV basketball team delivered a dominant performance against the Salado Eagles, earning a convincing 64–30 victory.
The game was tightly contested early, with the score knotted at 13–13 after the first quarter. From there, the Broncos took full control, using relentless ball pressure and strong defensive communication to hold Salado to single-digit scoring in each of the final three quarters.
Offensively, the Broncos were led by Kalei Cress, who finished with 15 points, while Bailey Schorn added 13 points in a strong all-around effort. Cheyann Oglesby provided a big spark off the bench, scoring 6 points and making a major impact on the defensive end with multiple steals and deflections, helping fuel the Broncos’ transition game.
Lake Belton’s defense set the tone the rest of the way, forcing turnovers and limiting scoring opportunities throughout the second half. With the win, the Broncos improve their record to 17–1 on the season. The team now turns its focus to district play, preparing for their first district matchup next Friday, January 9th, against the Belton Tigers.
