The Lake Belton Lady Bronco Basketball team continued its strong start to district play on Tuesday, January 13, defeating the Ellison Eagles 51–33.
Lake Belton set the tone early, jumping out to a 16–9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Broncos carried that momentum into halftime, extending the advantage to 28–16 with disciplined defense and balanced scoring. Coming out of the break, Lake Belton tightened up on both ends of the floor, outscoring Ellison in the third quarter to take a commanding 42–22 lead heading into the final period. The Lady Broncos maintained control the rest of the way to secure the 51–33 victory.
Erica Taylor led all scorers with 14 points, providing a steady offensive presence throughout the night. Gemma Pierce followed with 9 points, while Alexa King added 8 points in a well-rounded team effort.
With the win, Lake Belton improves its overall record to 25–1 and moves to 2–0 in district play.
The Lady Broncos will be back in action on Friday, January 16, when they travel to Waco High for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off as district competition continues.
