The Lake Belton Broncos girls JV basketball team turned an early stumble into a statement win, rolling past the Ellison Eagles 51–24 with suffocating defense and a complete team effort.
After a rough opening quarter that saw the Broncos trail 6–2, Lake Belton flipped the switch in a big way. The second quarter was all Broncos, as they erupted on an 18–1 run, turning defense into offense and completely changing the momentum of the game.
Ja’Niah Ford led the charge with 13 points, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Cheyann Oglesby followed with 9 points and was relentless with her energy and pressure, helping fuel the Broncos’ defensive surge.
From that dominant second quarter on, Lake Belton never looked back. The Broncos continued to clamp down defensively, forcing turnovers, contesting every shot, and steadily extending the lead. Every player contributed, making it a true full-team performance.
What started as a slow night quickly turned into another impressive win for the Broncos.
