The Lake Belton Lady Broncos continued their outstanding season Tuesday night with a commanding 85–32 victory over Waco High at home on February 3, in a special evening celebrating North Belton Middle School Night.
Prior to the game, Lake Belton proudly recognized North Belton Middle School, honoring its students and coaches for their continued support and commitment to developing young athletes in the community. The night highlighted the strong connection between the middle school and high school programs and the importance of building a foundation for future success.
On the court, Lake Belton set the tone early, jumping out to a 27–12 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. The Lady Broncos tightened the defense and extended the margin in the second quarter, outscoring Waco High 20–6 to take a 47–18 halftime lead. A dominant third quarter (22–7) put the game firmly out of reach before Lake Belton closed with a 16–7 fourth quarter to secure the win.
Offensively, the Lady Broncos were led by Aniya Taylor, who scored 24 points, including 3-for-3 from three-point range. Oliva Dann added 16 points, and Alexa King contributed 13 points, providing consistent scoring throughout the lineup. Additional contributions from Erica Taylor (11 points) and others showcased Lake Belton’s depth and balanced attack.
As a team, the Lady Broncos defensive pressure limited Waco High to just 32 total points on the night.
With the win, Lake Belton improves to 31–1 overall and remains 8–0 in district play.
The Lady Broncos return to action on Friday, February 6, when they host Chaparral High School at 7:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they continue their impressive season.
