The Lake Belton Bronco JV Silver squad battled hard Tuesday night but came up short in a tough 2-0 loss to University High School.
From the opening whistle, the Broncos showed grit and determination, matching University’s intensity and competing for every ball. The first half was a defensive battle, with JV Silver staying organized in the back and limiting quality chances. Despite the strong effort, University was able to capitalize on a scoring opportunity to take a narrow lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Broncos continued to press, creating moments in the attacking third and fighting to shift momentum. The midfield worked tirelessly to connect passes and generate chances, while the back line and goalkeeper stood tall under pressure. A late goal by University extended the lead, but Lake Belton never stopped competing until the final whistle.
Though the result wasn’t what the team hoped for, the effort and resilience were evident throughout the night. Games like Tuesday’s continue to build character and sharpen focus as district play heats up.
JV Silver now turns its attention to a big in-town rivalry matchup this Friday against Belton High School. The Broncos will look to regroup, refocus, and bounce back in front of a home crowd as they aim to get back in the win column.
