The Lake Belton High School Lady Broncos closed out district play in commanding fashion Tuesday night with an 87-14 victory over University High School.
From the opening tip, Lake Belton set the tone. The Lady Broncos exploded for 30 points in the first quarter while holding University to just 3, establishing early control of the game. By the start of the second quarter, Lake Belton had extended the lead to 45-10, showcasing relentless defense and efficient offense.
The momentum continued into the third quarter, as the Lady Broncos poured in 25 more points to stretch the lead to 68-12. Lake Belton maintained its intensity through the final buzzer, finishing the night with an impressive 87-14 win.
Leading the offensive charge was Alexa King, who finished with 25 points. Ariella Polley added 14, while Olivia Dann contributed 12 points. Erica Taylor chipped in 10, and a balanced scoring effort rounded out the night with Gemma Pierce, Layla King, and Ayaana Omisola each adding 7 points.
With the victory, Lake Belton improves to 33-1 overall and 10-0 in district play, finishing district competition undefeated. The Lady Broncos’ consistency, depth, and defensive intensity have been the foundation of a remarkable regular season.
As district champions, Lake Belton now turns its focus to the postseason. Playoff information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
