Bronco Swimming Crushes Competition at Regional Meet

Over the weekend, The Lake Belton Swim Team competed at the Region VI-5A Championship Swim Meet in College Station, TX. The boys team placed 4th overall, and the girls placed 5th! Throughout the weekend, The Broncos broke a total of 18 school records!!! Below are the results of the preliminary portion of the meet that happened on Friday. Swimmers had to place in the top 16 to move on to finals.

Results:
-Girls' 200 Medley Relay (Armstrong, Baker, Simeroth, Webb) finished 11th with a 2:14.66
-Boys' 200 Medley Relay (Stewart, Naumann, Florea, Hepworth) finished 3rd with a 1:40.83
-Girls' 200 Free: Gwen Clark finished 3rd with a 1:58.98; Hannah Voss finished 5th with a 2:00.55; Brynlee Armstrong finished 17th with a 2:23.53; Allison Webb finished 19th with a 2:26.38
-Boys' 200 Free: Parker Hepworth finished 9th with a 1:50.09; Kieran Scott finished 14th with a 1:54.77; Mehul Bansal finished 24th with a 2:40.41
-Girls' 200 IM: Eden Kruse finished 18th with a 2:47.49

-Girls' 500 Freestyle: Hannah Voss finished 4th with a 5:16.55; Jentry Ferguson finished 6th with a 5:27.21; Allison Webb finished 18th with a 6:36.72

Saturday, the swimmers who placed in the top 16, swam in the finals portion of the competition. The top 2 athletes in each event get to automatically move on to the state competition. After that, the next 8 fastest swimmers in the state get called up and get to swim at the state swim meet. Our Broncos worked hard, and secured many spots in the state meet!!
