Three freshmen Lady Bronco Golfers, Kaylee Holler, Hayleigh McConnell, and Emily McMillon kicked off their Spring Tournament season on Wednesday, February 11 at Hidden Falls Golf Course in Marble Falls.
A chilly morning led to a beautiful February day as the three young golfers played in their first tournament since December. This was also the first tournament they have played in with conditions and rules similar to what the district tournament will be: a nine stroke limit and out-of-bounds played as stroke and distance.
Hayleigh McConnell had the lowest score for the Lady Bronco Golf Team who played as medalists after the fourth member of the team was unable to play due to illness. McConnell shot a good 114. She had three pars and three bogeys on her round. She will be in action again on February 20 and 21, playing with the Silver Team as a Medalist at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco.
Kaylee Holler had a 136 on the day. She had two bogeys and several really good drives.
McMillon shot a 137 with one bogey. She also sank a 20 foot putt during her round.
The Silver Team will start their Spring Season on February 20 and 21 during the Waco ISD Tournament. It will be held at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, which is the site of the district tournament.
The Red Team will play their next tournament at Mill Creek Golf Course in Salado on March 4.
