Herrera was dominant in the circle, as the southpaw rang up 12 strikeouts in Lake Belton Varsity Broncos's 4-1 victory over Fredericksburg Varsity Battlin' Billies on Monday. Herrera gave up three hits and one run over seven innings while walking four.

Proving the importance of putting the ball in play, Lake Belton took full advantage of several defensive miscues by Fredericksburg. The Broncos’ aggressive approach on the base-paths forced the Billies into mistakes, allowing Lake Belton to plate four runs in the frame.

They Broncos suit back up this Thursday to compete in the Brittany Tuck Tournament, where they look to keep the momentum rolling against a competitive field.
