On Thursday, February 19, the Lake Belton Lady Broncos delivered a commanding performance in the second round of the playoffs, defeating Seagoville High School 71–30 to claim the Area Championship.
From the opening tip, Lake Belton set the tone. The Lady Broncos exploded to a 21–2 lead at the end of the first quarter, showcasing suffocating defense and efficient offense. Their energy and focus continued into the second quarter, closing the first half with a strong 32–10 advantage.
Coming out of halftime, Lake Belton showed no signs of slowing down. The Lady Broncos extended their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Dragons 25–9 behind aggressive defense and balanced scoring. A composed and disciplined fourth quarter sealed the dominant 71–30 victory.
Key Performers:
Aniya Taylor led the way with 20 points and reached a historic milestone, surpassing 2,000 career points — an incredible achievement and testament to her hard work and dedication.
Alexa King added 12 points.
Ayaana Omisola contributed 8 points.
Olivia Dann chipped in 7 points.
Ariella Polley added 6 points.
With the win, Lake Belton improves to an impressive 35–1 overall record and proudly earns the title of Area Champions.
