The Lake Belton JV Silver squad earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ellison High School JV Friday night, showcasing resilience and teamwork in a competitive district matchup.

The Broncos came out with energy from the opening whistle, controlling possession through the midfield and creating early chances in the attacking third. Their persistence paid off when Midfielder Nicholas Ling found the back of the net off a well-timed assist from Ben Rydberg. The buildup was sharp and decisive, as Rydberg delivered a quality pass that Ling calmly finished to give Lake Belton the early advantage.

Ellison responded with a PK Goal in the second half. Both teams battled for control, with strong defensive play and physical challenges defining the pace of the game.

Lake Belton regained the lead thanks to Forward Layton Evans, who capitalized on an opportunity in front of goal and delivered the eventual game-winner. Evans’ composure in the attacking third proved to be the difference, lifting the Broncos ahead 2-1.

From there, the JV Silver defense stood firm. The back line stayed organized under pressure, clearing dangerous balls and limiting quality looks for Ellison late in the match. The team’s communication and discipline helped secure the narrow but well-earned victory.

With the 2-1 win, Lake Belton JV Silver continues to build momentum and confidence as district play progresses.
