The Lake Belton JV Red squad battled through a competitive weekend tournament, finishing 2–2 overall and showing both explosive potential and areas to improve heading into next week.
Lake Belton opened with a tough 5–4 loss to Austin Anderson High School, coming up just short in a back-and-forth game. They responded in dominant fashion with a 12–0 shutout over Vista Ridge High School, combining strong pitching, sharp defense, and timely hitting.
In Game 3, the JV Red fell 6–3 to Lake Travis High School despite staying competitive throughout. The team closed the tournament on a high note, erupting for a 20–5 win over Austin High School behind an explosive offensive performance.
There were plenty of great plays all weekend — clutch hits, aggressive base running, and key defensive stops — but the team knows consistency and execution will be key moving forward. Lake Belton looks to build on the positives as they prepare to host their own tournament this Thursday at Lake Belton High School.
