The Lake Belton Lady Broncos saw their incredible season come to an end Tuesday night, February 25, in the third round of the playoffs against Emerson High School. In a competitive and physical matchup, the Lady Broncos fell 42-34 in the Semi-Regional round.
Lake Belton found themselves trailing early, down 10-7 after the first quarter. Emerson extended the lead in the second quarter, and the Lady Broncos entered halftime behind 23-14.
True to their character all season long, Lake Belton came out of the half time break ready to fight. The Lady Broncos battled possession by possession in the second half, showing the toughness and resilience that has defined this team all year. Despite their efforts to close the gap, Emerson maintained its lead, and the game concluded with a final score of 42-34.
Aniya Taylor led the way offensively with 21 points, continuing her outstanding junior campaign and once again stepping up on the biggest stage.
Lake Belton finishes the season with an impressive 35-2 record and a Semi-Regional appearance. While this loss marks the end of the 2025-2026 season, it does not define it.

More importantly, this group represented Lake Belton with class, toughness, and heart. They played for each other. They played for their school. They played for something bigger than themselves.
To our seniors β thank you. Thank you for the leadership, the sacrifices, and the standard you set. You helped elevate this program and leave it better than you found it.
To our underclassmen β the future is bright. The experience gained during this playoff run will fuel the work this offseason. The standard has been raised, and the foundation is strong.
The scoreboard may have closed this chapter, but the story of Lady Bronco Basketball is far from finished.
