The Lake Belton JV Silver Soccer Team fought with heart and determination Tuesday night but fell just short in a tough 2-1 loss to Belton High School.

The matchup had all the intensity of a rivalry game, with both sides competing hard for every ball from the opening whistle. Lake Belton came out aggressive, pressing high and looking to create early chances in the attacking third.

Belton scored two quick goals in the first half. The Broncos responded with resilience and composure, refusing to let the early setback dictate the pace of the game. Their persistence paid off when forward Layton Evans found the back of the net to level the score. Evans finished confidently after a strong build-up play, giving Lake Belton the momentum heading into halftime.

The second half was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams creating chances and the defensive units stepping up in key moments. The Broncos’ back line stayed organized under pressure, while the midfield worked tirelessly to control possession and spark the attack.

While the result wasn’t what the Broncos hoped for, the team’s fight and growth were evident throughout the night. Competing in a tight rivalry contest will only strengthen this group as they continue to improve and prepare for the challenges ahead.
