The Lake Belton girls powerlifting team delivered an impressive performance this past Saturday at the regional equipped powerlifting meet, finishing third overall as a team and earning multiple top individual finishes.

Leading the way for Lake Belton were Jaya Lisenbe and Moriah Rydberg, who each won their respective weight classes, helping propel the team to a podium finish.

Strong performances also came from Catalina Esquivel and Macie Solis, who both placed third in their weight classes. Isalei Simpson and Aralina Acosta each finished fourth, while Emyle Love and Maiya Keen placed fifth in their respective divisions.

Four Lake Belton lifters also achieved another major milestone. Lisenbe, Rydberg, Esquivel, and Solis all met the qualifying total needed to compete at the state powerlifting meet, which will take place Saturday, March 21 in Edinburg.

The meet also featured historic performances for the program. Rydberg tied the regional record in the bench press for her weight class, while Analicia Diaz set a new regional record in the deadlift with an impressive lift of 370 pounds. Rydberg and Diaz are the first two athletes in Lake Belton history to hold regional records in the equipped division.

With four athletes advancing to state and several podium finishes, the Lake Belton girls powerlifting team continues to build momentum and establish itself as one of the top programs in the region.
