The Lake Belton Junior Varsity Broncos faced a challenging afternoon on the diamond this Friday, falling 12-2 in a tough matchup against Belton JV.
It was a difficult afternoon at the plate for the Broncos, who struggled to find their timing against Belton's pitching staff. The team was held hitless and faced significant contact issues, racking up 12 strikeouts over the course of the game.
Despite the high strikeout count, the Broncos managed to find small windows of opportunity by drawing four walks. Raelynn Hunt capitalized on one of these chances, recording the team's lone RBI to put Lake Belton on the board.
When the Broncos did reach base, they were clinical in their execution. The team stayed aggressive, successfully swiping seven bases in total. Leading the charge were Carly Frosch and Hayleigh McConnell, who both turned walks into scoring threats by stealing multiple bases each.
The Broncos look to rebound next Tuesday, as they travel to Ellison High School for another district matchup.
