Lake Belton High School was proudly represented at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) Unequipped Girls State Powerlifting Meet this past Thursday, as freshman Taytum Hobson and junior Nani Rubio competed against the best lifters in Texas.
Hobson delivered an impressive performance in her first appearance on the state stage. The freshman set personal records in the squat, bench press, and overall total pounds lifted, showcasing her potential and determination for the future of the program.
Rubio continued to build on her already outstanding career with a dominant showing. She set new state records in both the squat and deadlift, highlighting her strength and consistency at the highest level of competition. Rubio also claimed first place in her weight class, earning her second consecutive state championship title.
With strong performances from both athletes, Lake Belton Girls Powerlifting demonstrated its continued growth and success on the state level. Hobson’s breakthrough meet and Rubio’s record-setting performance mark an exciting moment for the program and set a high standard for seasons to come.
