Lake Belton High School was well represented at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) Equipped State Meet on Saturday, as three athletes competed among the top lifters in Texas: sophomore Catalina Esquivel, senior Moriah Rydberg, and senior Jaya Lisenbe.
Esquivel continued her strong season with an impressive performance, setting personal bests in both the squat and overall total. She finished 9th in her weight class, gaining valuable experience on the state stage.
Rydberg also delivered a solid showing in her final high school meet, achieving personal records in the squat and overall total. She placed 12th in her weight class, capping off her senior season with a strong effort.
Lisenbe led the way for Lake Belton with an outstanding performance, earning a 3rd place finish in her weight class. The senior recorded personal bests in the squat, bench press, and overall total, showcasing her hard work and dedication. Lisenbe closes out her career as a three-time state qualifier and two-time state medalist, leaving a lasting impact on the program.
The Lake Belton Girls Powerlifting team once again demonstrated its strength and competitiveness at the state level, highlighted by personal achievements and a podium finish.
