The Lake Belton Broncos traveled to crosstown rival Belton to open the District 16-5A slate. The Broncos dropped the opener by a score of 8-7 in 8 innings. A back and forth game saw the Broncos take a one run lead into the 7th. The Tigers managed to score a run in the bottom of the 7th and then again in the 8th to secure the victory. With the loss, the Broncos fall to 11-6-3 on the season. Lake will look to rebound on Friday in the second game of the series at Bronco Ballpark. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
