The Lake Belton Broncos JV Red team made a strong statement to open district play, sweeping Belton in a doubleheader with commanding wins of 10-1 and 13-3.

In game one, the Broncos set the tone early with a 10-1 victory behind solid pitching and consistent offense. Lake Belton controlled the game from the start, limiting Belton’s opportunities while capitalizing at the plate. The defense stayed sharp, and the pitching staff kept Belton off balance throughout, allowing the Broncos to cruise to the opening win.

Game two saw an even bigger offensive surge, as the Broncos rolled to a 13-3 win. Lake Belton jumped out early and never looked back, highlighted by a five-run second inning fueled by patience at the plate and aggressive baserunning. The Broncos drew 12 walks in the game, constantly applying pressure.

Chase Stanford played a key role in the nightcap, earning the win on the mound while also going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Cooper Smith also had 4 RBI’s on two hits in game one, Gavin Powers and Hamilton Hughes contributed offensively, while Powers and Gavin Kuechenmeister made an impact on the bases with multiple steals.

Across both games, the Broncos showcased a complete team effort—strong pitching, disciplined at-bats, and relentless pressure on the basepaths. The sweep puts Lake Belton JV Red at 2-0 in district play and 12-5 on the season.

The Broncos will look to keep things rolling as they continue district competition Monday night against Ellison High School in another double header at Bronco field at 5 and 7pm.
