For the second time in three years Senior Jackson Null is the district 16 5-A champion golfer! Jackson accomplished this by shooting a two-day score of 150 strokes. His first day score of 76, included an eagle on the ninth hole of Stonetree Golf Course. Jackson hit his first shot to the left side of the fairway, leaving approximately 170 yards to the green. His next swing left him 15 feet to the left of the hole. The eagle putt broke from left to right and ended in the bottom of the cup! At the end of day one Jackson had a three-stroke lead over playing partner Senior Owen Babcock from Belton High School.
The second day started with a stiff 25 mph wind out of the south, straight into the face of the golfers on the first tee. Jackson Hit a stinger five iron to left side of the fairway and left him with 160 yards to the green. His next shot found the green and the putt fell into hole for an opening birdie. Jackson played the round in two over par which included three birdies.
At the end of the second round Jackson had an eight stroke lead and he held the district champion medal again.
Jackson and the rest of his Bronco teammates will play in the regional tournament at Tanglewood Resort Golf Course in Pottsboro on April 13th and 14th, with a chance to play in the State Championship in Georgetown.
