The Lake Belton Junior Varsity Broncos fell just short in a defensive struggle against the Belton Tigers, losing 4-2 on Tuesday. Despite the loss, the Broncos’ offense was active, out-hitting the Tigers four to three. The effort was led by Briley Shirley, Kennedy Jacobs, Khloe Smith, and Mecca Jefferson, who each collected a hit to contribute to the team's total bases.
Khloe Smith was particularly efficient, going 1-for-1 at the plate and driving in a run to lead the team in RBIs. On the mound, Teague started the game and battled through two and two-thirds innings, surrendering three hits while striking out two.
The Broncos' trademark speed was on full display as they "ran wild" on the base paths with five total steals. Carly Frosch led the charge with two stolen bases, while Adalyn Ramos, Briley Shirley, and Kennedy Jacobs each swiped one to keep the pressure on the Tigers' defense until the final out.
