Broncos Launch Strong Start on Day One of the 16-5A District Meet

Day one of district field events delivered power, poise, and plenty of podium finishes for the Broncos, as athletes across all divisions stacked up points and punched tickets to the Area Championships.

Girls Discus
Freshman Caydence Kanzenbach opened her postseason with a 4th-place throw of 66-5, scoring 4 points, while teammate Zeana Gilbert followed in 5th at 59-8, adding 2 more.

Boys Discus
Freshman Luke Button unleashed a 103-2 throw to take 2nd and earn 8 points.

In JV, Tiger Maxwell powered out to 105-7, securing 3rd and 6 points.

Varsity standout Isaiah Fulk delivered a massive 140-5, finishing 2nd, scoring 8 points, and qualifying for Area.

Keegan Hedrick added a 6th-place finish at 119-9, contributing 1 point.

Girls High Jump
JV star Olivia Dann soared to 4-11, claiming the district title and 10 points.
Varsity jumper Dannika Kelley cleared 5-0 for 4th and 4 points and qualified for Area.

Boys High Jump
Freshman Charlie Tyler placed 5th at 5-2, earning 2 points.
JV saw Caleb Smith rise to 2nd with a 6-0 clearance (8 points), while Luke Phillips added 2 more points with a 5th-place finish at 5-4.

Girls Long Jump
JV jumper Gabrielle Hamilton claimed 3rd with a 14-9 leap (6 points), and Charli Williams added a point with 6th at 13-1.75.
Varsity saw Ayaana Omisola take 3rd at 15-9, earning 6 points and qualifying for Area, followed by Lexi Walker in 5th at 15-6.5 (2 points).

Boys Long Jump
Freshman Jadrian Rodriguez placed 5th at 16-9 (2 points), with Cameron Cutrer close behind in 6th at 16-5 (1 point).
JV’s Luke Phillips added a strong 4th-place jump of 18-7.5, scoring 4 points.

Girls Pole Vault
JV vaulter Kendall Thibeault cleared 6-0 for 2nd and 8 points.
Varsity delivered a sweep of top finishes:

Avelyn Ponce – 3rd, 7-6 (6 points) Area Qualified

Keira Dzenowski – 4th, 7-0 (4 points) Area Qualified

Brynley Haynes – 5th, 6-6 (2 points)

Boys Pole Vault
Freshman Kevin Lemus placed 4th at 8-0 (4 points).
JV dominated with Jonah Frosbish winning the event at 10-0 (10 points) and Jacob Copley taking 2nd at 9-6 (8 points).
Varsity’s Drew Houston cleared 12-0 for 4th (4 points.) Area Qualified

Boys Shot Put
Freshman Chantz Parker blasted a 38-9 throw to win the district title and earn 10 points.

JV throwers added more depth:

Alexander Carter – 2nd, 39-10.5 (8 points)

Tony Conchos – 5th, 37-0.5 (2 points)

Girls Shot Put

Freshman Riley Hardin took 2nd with 27-9 (8 points), while Zeana Gilbert added 2 more points with a 5th-place finish at 24-3.

JV saw Makinzi Johnson take 2nd at 30-9 (8 points), Tiana Ballard 4th at 27-6 (4 points), and Kaylin Amaker 6th at 25-11 (1 point).

Varsity standout Iaslei Simpson threw 33-10 for 3rd, scoring 6 points and qualifying for Area.

A dominant showing:

Avery Reinhardt – 1st, 31-5 (10 points)

Charli Williams – 3rd, 30-8.25 (6 points)

Sheree Streete – 4th, 30-7.5 (4 points)

Varsity Girls Triple Jump

Camryn Mikulas – 2nd, 36-7.75 (8 points) and Area qualifier

Audrey Myghelli – 5th, 34-10.5 (2 points)

Dannika Kelley – 6th, 33-11.5 (1 point)

Freshman Boys Triple Jump

Jadrian Rodriguez – 2nd, 39-6 (8 points)

Camden Wittman – 6th, 36-2 (1 point)

JV Boys Triple Jump

A massive performance with two Area qualifiers:

Ji’yson Sherman – 2nd, 42-5.25 (8 points)

Allen Muchunu – 3rd, 42-2.5 (6 points)

From freshmen making their district debuts to varsity athletes punching their tickets to the next round, the Broncos delivered a powerful opening day across every field event. With momentum building and points stacking up, the team is poised for an electric finish as the meet continues.
