The Lake Belton Varsity Broncos stormed to an impressive victory, fueled by a massive 10-run first inning. The offensive onslaught began with an error that brought three runs across the plate, followed by an RBI double from Analicia Diaz and another run-scoring error. The momentum continued as Alexis Walker scored on a sacrifice fly, an additional error plated another run, Brysen Gott delivered a two-run double, and Avery Park capped off the frame with an RBI single. The Broncos added three more runs in the third inning, highlighted by an RBI double down the left-field line from Addison Sims, an RBI single to right field by Walker, and a final run courtesy of a Waco error.
On the defensive side, the Broncos were flawless, committing zero errors throughout the contest. Lilliana Herrera started in the circle, delivering a perfect inning with no hits, runs, or walks allowed. Natalie Hosch and Kayleigh Jackson followed in relief, effectively shutting down the Lions' offense to secure the win.
Offensively, the Broncos tallied 12 hits, with Sims, Diaz, and Park leading the charge with two hits each. Alaysha Williams provided power with a home run, while Sims (2), Diaz, Park, Gott, and Madison Naser each contributed doubles. Additional production came from Isabell Magana and Maliyah Gooden, who each recorded stolen bases, and Magana, Williams, Sims, and Gott, who were hit by pitches. Williams also added a sacrifice fly to the team's total. By the end of the game, total bases were distributed across the lineup: Sims (4), Williams (4), Diaz (3), Park (3), Gott (2), Magana (2), Naser (2), Walker (1), Perkins (1), and Gooden (1).
The Broncos look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they travel to face Chaparral this Friday to close out district play.
