The Lake Belton Bronco varsity volleyball team traveled to Westwood High School on Saturday to compete on the third and final day of the Westwood Showcase Tournament’s Bronze Bracket.
The Broncos opened the day with a hard-fought 25-23, 25-21 victory over Kingwood Park. The win was especially memorable as it marked Head Coach Allison Garner’s 100th career victory since arriving at Lake Belton in 2023!
Lake Belton advanced to the winner’s bracket, where they faced the Hutto Hippos. After battling through a persistent early rally and overcoming injuries, the Broncos outlasted Hutto in another close match, earning a 25-23, 25-23 victory.
The Broncos advanced to the championship match, where they faced a talented Canyon Randall squad. Lake Belton fought hard but ultimately fell 15-25, 15-25.
The Broncos finished the weekend with a 5-4 tournament record and now stand at 6-5 overall on the season. Lake Belton will return to action next weekend at the Pflugerville Volleyfest Tournament!
