The Lake Belton Freshman Red volleyball team once again showed its ability to battle through adversity, overcoming a first-set loss to defeat Leander 2-1 in an exciting three-set match.

Leander came out strong in the opening set, taking a 25-18 victory and putting the Broncos in an early hole.

Lake Belton responded immediately in the second set. The Broncos found their rhythm, battled for every point, and earned a 25-19 victory to even the match and force a decisive third set.

The momentum continued into the final set as Lake Belton took control and finished strong, winning 25-17 to complete the comeback.

Two key difference-makers for the Broncos was Carly Gonzales and Sophie Guyette, who were both aggressive on the attack throughout the match. Gonzales delivered big swings while Guyette handled powerful kills, providing important momentum-changing plays when Lake Belton needed them most.

From the service line, Kinley Pitts created even more problems for Leander. Pitts delivered ace after ace, putting pressure on the Leander serve-receive and making it difficult for the Leopards to establish their offense.

After dropping the opening set, the Broncos never panicked. Instead, they continued to battle, gained momentum, and finished the match by winning two straight sets.
