The Lake Belton Cross Country Team traveled to Wilson Park yesterday to compete in the Pro-Fit Invitational. The meet kicked off with the varsity girls' race. Sophomore Keira Dzenowski led the Lady Broncos with an 8th place finish. Jenna Benedick, Demi Fisher, Amara Bodeman, and Lucy Loa rounded out the top 5 runners for the team. The varsity girls finished 4th in the team standings.
The varsity boys' team was led by senior Wyatt Potts who finished 11th individually. Tyler Adkins Beltran and Jack McCullagh also medaled with 14th and 15th places respectively. Additionally, Drew Houston and Josiah Briggs were point scorers for the Broncos. As a team, the varsity boys finished in 2nd place.
The JV girls' team had an impressive morning with the Lady Broncos finishing in 5 of the top 6 places, earning a near-perfect team score. The girls were led by senior Shreya Muni who captured the individual title. On her heels were Abby Glasser (2nd), Camryn Mikulas (3rd), Kimberly Solis Colon (4th), and Lydia Garcia (6th). The JV girls walked away with the team title. The JV boys team was led by junior Phillip Eggleston. David McIntyre crossed the line as the 2nd Bronco finisher.
The Lake Belton Cross Country Team will travel to the Waco HOT Soccer Complex on Thursday to compete in the Midway Hewitt Kiwanis Invitational.
