The Lake Belton Broncos volleyball team hit the road for its final tournament weekend, traveling to compete in the Joshua Showcase. The competitive invitational guaranteed two full best-of-five matches each day, providing the Broncos with a valuable preseason opportunity to compete against strong opponents and identify areas for continued growth.

Day One
The Broncos opened the tournament with a five-set battle against the Glen Rose Tigers. Lake Belton established early momentum, taking the first two sets, 27-25 and 25-20. Glen Rose responded by winning the third and fourth sets, 25-15 and 25-16, forcing a decisive fifth set.
In the final set, the Broncos responded with determination, battling through the pressure to secure a 15-10 victory and claim the match. Gracie Lott led the offensive attack with 14 kills, followed by Ava Wood with 10. Kamryn Daniels paced the offense with 19 assists, while Kylie Morganroth added 14. Haylee Kasner led the defensive effort with 15 digs, and Daniels contributed 11.

In their second match of the day, the Broncos faced the North Crowley Panthers. North Crowley’s persistence and consistent play proved difficult for Lake Belton to overcome, as the Broncos fell in three sets, 19-25, 18-25 and 14-25.

Ava Wood and Kaleileana Cress each recorded 5 kills, while Lott added 4. Daniels led the team with 17 assists. Kruz Smith paced the defensive effort with 9 digs, while Kenna Morrison and Daniels each contributed 8.

Day Two
Day two began with a matchup against the tournament host, the Joshua Owls. Despite several strong individual performances, the Broncos struggled to establish their team rhythm throughout the match. Cress led the offense with 11 kills, while Daniels recorded 14 assists. Kristen Morales led the defensive effort with 11 digs.
Lake Belton ultimately fell to Joshua in three sets, 8-25, 22-25 and 14-25.

Determined to finish the tournament on a stronger note, the Broncos faced Midlothian Heritage in their final match of the weekend. Communication challenges contributed to unforced errors that made it difficult for Lake Belton to maintain momentum. The Broncos battled throughout the match but ultimately fell 23-25, 15-25 and 19-25.
Daniels led the Broncos with 8 kills, followed closely by Wood with 7. Daniels also paced the defense with 11 digs, while Smith contributed 7.

Building for the Season Ahead
Although the weekend’s results were not what the Broncos had hoped for, the Joshua Showcase provided valuable experience and an opportunity for growth. Facing tough competition helped the team identify areas for improvement, both individually and collectively, as the Broncos continue to prepare for the season ahead.

One of the weekend’s greatest positives was the opportunity for the team to strengthen its relationships and build camaraderie away from the court. The Broncos demonstrated that success extends beyond the scoreboard, embracing the lessons that come from adversity and using them as a foundation for a growth mindset.

Kaleileana Cress and Kamryn Daniels were recognized as All-Tournament selections for their contributions throughout the weekend.

The Broncos will carry the lessons, experience and team growth from the Joshua Showcase into the next opportunity to compete when the Broncos travel to Lorena on Tuesday night.
