The Lake Belton Freshman Red volleyball team showed tremendous fight and resilience Tuesday night, battling back from an early setback to defeat the Harker Heights Knights in three sets.

Lake Belton opened the match with a strong start, building a commanding 16-6 lead in the first set. Harker Heights, however, rallied late to edge the Broncos 27-25 and take the opening set.

Rather than letting the tough loss carry over, Lake Belton responded with determination. The Broncos battled through a competitive second set and completed a huge comeback, eventually pulling away to win 25-20 and force a deciding third set.

With momentum on their side, the Broncos continued to apply pressure in the final set. Lake Belton's defense and timely plays at the net helped the team close out the match with a 25-19 victory, securing the three-set win.

Janya Houston came alive during the match, making a significant impact as the Broncos found their rhythm. Behind strong serving, Lake Belton was able to create pressure and build momentum during key stretches.

At the net, Sophie Guyette and Macey Brent provided a strong defensive presence, coming up with timely blocks and deflections that helped keep Harker Heights from finding an offensive rhythm.

The Broncos' ability to overcome the first-set heartbreak and fight their way back in the second set was a defining moment of the night. Lake Belton's resilience, serving pressure, and net play ultimately powered the Freshman Red team to an impressive 2-1 victory.
