The Lake Belton Freshman Silver volleyball team opened district play in impressive fashion Tuesday night, defeating the Harker Heights Knights in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-20, to begin the district season 1-0.

Lake Belton established control early in the opening set and never let up, finishing with a 25-17 victory. The Broncos continued to apply pressure in the second set, closing out Harker Heights 25-20 to secure the sweep.

Clara Smith was on fire offensively, finding success on an impressive 80% of her attacks and consistently putting pressure on the Harker Heights defense. On the right side, Camryn Anthony was a constant threat, delivering multiple key scores and giving the Broncos another reliable offensive option.

With strong attacking from both sides and a disciplined team effort, the Freshman Silver squad starts district play 1-0 and carries plenty of momentum into its next match.
