The Bronco volleyball team traveled to Chaparral High School for its second district match of the season, facing the Bobcats in their district opener. In a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle, the Broncos came out strong in the opening set, securing a 25-20 victory.

The Bobcats responded in the second set, battling their way back into the match as the Broncos fell 17-25. The third set proved to be a thriller, featuring multiple game-point opportunities and keeping fans on the edge of their seats. After an intense exchange, Chaparral ultimately edged out the Broncos 32-30.

Refusing to back down, the Broncos came out with renewed intensity in the fourth set. Utilizing a spread offense and delivering key serves at crucial moments, the Broncos regained control and earned a decisive 25-16 victory, forcing a fifth and final set.

In the deciding set, the Broncos battled to stay within striking distance, but a few costly errors at key moments allowed the Bobcats to pull ahead. Despite a determined effort, the Broncos ultimately fell 10-15, concluding a hard-fought five-set battle.

The Broncos’ resilience and competitive spirit were on full display throughout the match as they continued to battle until the final point.

Several Broncos made significant contributions throughout the evening. Ava Wood led the team with 16 kills, while Gracie Lott and Kaleileana Cress each added nine kills. Kristen Morales anchored the defensive effort with 23 digs, followed by Kenna Morrison and Haylee Kasner, who each recorded 20 digs. Taylan Cole contributed four aces and 12 digs, while Kamryn Daniels orchestrated the Broncos’ offense with 34 assists and added 13 digs defensively.

The Broncos will take a break from district competition on Tuesday night as they travel to Salado to take on the talented Eagles in their next match.
